QUESTION: KIS Consent Box – Issues

Posted by: Liz Lawrence - Posted on:

We have new widescreen screens and have set it to medium (bigger) display but myself and other staff found it impossible to tick consent box in KIS.  The only solution to make the KIS readable and usable,  is, each time we are updating  a KIS, we need to •go into control panel •Change the display to “Smaller” •log off, •login again (which then makes display of everything tiny & difficult to read) •login to VISION, find the patient , get into ECS •Update the KIS •Change display back to medium •logout …etc

I did raise this with the ACP team, however I was asked if they could disseminate my  solution . I think, however, the solution needs a setting change on VISION,  so that the full  display of the KIS forms remains the same no matter what the display setting is at on the PC /laptop / handheld the KIS completer is using as it makes completing the form even more cumbersome and actually is a safety issue as I originally  thought that I maybe did not need to save  the consent bit as the “OK” was not appearing

ANSWER

Many thanks for contacting Primary Care Informatics about this issue in which it is hard to select the KIS consent box on widescreens.  It seems that this issue is not widespread, in other practices that use Vision (Cegedim) around the country this is not a problem.  Therefore a Request For Change to Vision (Cegedim) is unlikely to be beneficial here.  We would suggest that you kindly contact your local IT support team for assistance with screen settings to see if that might be the issue.

Thank you
