The Primary Care Informatics recommended codes are for use in primary care with the aim to promote consistent data entry across Scotland. To assist, we have listed suggested priorities of these codes and also include one page of the same codes in Read code chapter order. In general high priority codes, which tend to be diagnoses should be shared when referring patients. Clinical judgement or exclusion lists should be used so information shared is suitable for the destination of the referral.
