CMS is part of the new community pharmacy contract which community pharmacists will provide for patients with long term conditions with the aim or improving outcomes. Patients will register with a pharmacy who will keep a pharmacy care record and advise the patient on their medication and care plan. Some patients on stable repeat medications may be suitable for serial prescribing.

The attached guidance document has been prepared for GP Practices and will be updated as required.

EMIS training materials can be accessed in two ways :

Method 1 requires the user to login to the EMIS online client zone at http://www.emis-online.com/commonroom/login/. Once logged in, go to Library – User Documentation to access “TH551 PCS Scotland Prescribing using CMS .pdf and “TH552 PCS Scotland managing CMS .pdf.

Method 2 does not require the user to be logged on : the training materials can also be accessed directly via the users of the PCS system, ie via PCS Frame ‘EMIS Online Client Zone”.
